We don’t ask our two older kids to hold hands very often but this was one of those moments I thought it might be a good idea 🌅

We handed the camera to our daughter and included some of her photos of her brother and Adam in the palm tree in this carousel. Seeing her activate that creative spark at sunset made our night, and this short and sweet sunset moment felt like the perfect way to end a busy weekend.

Admittedly there are mornings when the kids are off to school, I’ve opened the inbox and start to work and Adam asks if I ate anything yet. Does it count if I had three cups of coffee and licked the apple sauce from the baby’s pouch before it dropped to the floor? Nay?

My #1 photoshoot tip to get the session off on the right foot is to arrive hydrated, caffeinated, fed and, especially if with kids or if pregnant, bring some favorite snacks. We’ll never say no to a snack/nursing/water break so if you need a moment, take it - a crucial part of every photoshoot is feeling comfortable and well. We’re here to capture the moments in between 💖

Here’s the recipe for my favorite and v easy smoothie that is perfect for moms who prefer not to eat discarded lunch scraps or warm cheese that met its end on the counter after falling from their child’s packed lunch:

🍌1 small banana
🍍4-5 pieces of frozen pineapple
🍯Honey (I like sweet, you can probably leave it out..)
💧Water or milk of choice

Adam and I tell each other those five words every single day, but it means so much more coming from an unexpected place.

Parenting is full of guilt, wondering what if, and navigating emotion on a daily basis. Social media paints an interesting picture, a few frames in a day. I guarantee even the most insta-perfect feel it too. Some days feel like pure survival, some are bliss, most are a healthy mixture of both.

Many parents suit up for unmentioned battles each day. To cope, they’re told to take some me time or just get a babysitter. Lol.

In case you haven’t heard it today and yes, I’m speaking to you - you’re doing great.
