🧶✨ Trying something new! ✨🧶

I just finished my first amigurumi and had so much fun stepping outside my usual projects! It got me thinking—what new or different kinds of projects has everyone else been working on lately?

Have you tried a new technique, pattern style, or type of fiber art? Maybe something that challenged you a little or got you excited to learn more?

Drop a comment and share what you’ve been working on—I'd love to see photos too! It’s always inspiring to see what everyone is creating. 💛

This weekend!!

💗 February Stitch-In — Saturday the 28th! 💗
Join us on Saturday, February 28th from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at the Chagrin Falls Library
📍 100 E Orange Street, Chagrin Falls

This month we’re introducing something new — a Yarn Sharing Table! 🧶
I’ll be bringing yarn from my own stash that I may not use but that someone else might love. Feel free to donate yarn or take yarn — let’s keep beautiful fibers in circulation and spark some new creativity.

We’ll also be kicking off a group granny square project that will be joined into a blanket to donate to the Cleveland Clinic’s CICU department and/or Project Linus. 💙 Thanks to Alisha for putting the suggestion out there!

Here’s how it will work:
• Medium (4) weight acrylic yarn
• 5-inch granny squares
• I’ll bring a few pattern options to share
• We’ll decide on colors together at the meeting
• We’ll get started on the 28th, then you can continue working on your squares during March and bring completed squares to our March meeting

Make one square or several — every stitch will become part of something meaningful.

✨ All yarn artists are welcome — not just crochet! Knit, crochet, loom, or bring any fiber project you’re working on.
Bring a friend and let’s make it a cozy, creative February gathering!

This came up in my memories today from 6 years ago... A trio of cute little watercolor birdies I painted! I was struggling with my watercolor class at the time and remember feeling so frustrated with not being able to "get" it. Eventually I managed to paint these little guys and haven't picked up watercolors since! Lol Maybe I will try again someday...

❄️ Brrr… it’s cold outside, but we’re still stitching! ❄️

Just a reminder that our crochet group meets this Saturday from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at the Chagrin Falls Library.
📍 100 E Orange Street, Chagrin Falls

Yep, we are meeting even though the weather is bitterly cold—because nothing beats warm yarn, warm drinks, and even warmer company!

We’ll also be continuing work on the blankets for the Cleveland Clinic’s CICU department, so if you’ve already got a project on the hook, or want to jump in and help, this is the perfect time. Every stitch truly makes a difference. 💙

✨ All yarn artists are welcome — not just crochet! Knit, crochet, loom, or bring any fiber project you’re working on.

🧶 We are also accepting yarn donations for the CICU blanket project and would be so grateful for any stash you’re looking to part with.

🧸 Amigurumi artists: I have an abundance of poly-fill available — free for the taking! Please bring a bag if you’d like to take some home.

Bring a friend, come for the creativity, stay for the laughs, and escape the cold for a bit. New faces are always welcome! 🧣🧵

Another beauty off the hook! This one is for us to keep...

I love how it's Christmassy but subtle. Perfect for our gray/green/white family room during winter! It ended up being over 6 feet square, heavy and wonderfully cozy! It's currently blocking on our queen size guest bed after a quick wash.

My dad made this bed for me, he had such a talent for woodworking. I miss him every single day.... Funny how my family heirloom sits with the one he gave to me. 😊

One of the awesome benefits my employer offers their employees each year is 8 hours of paid volunteer time. We can choose to volunteer any way you like for whatever organization you choose. Since I am an avid crochet artist, I choose to use my volunteer time making blankets for charity.

Today was a finishing day, weaving in all the loose ends on my blankets, getting them packed up and taking them to the donation site. My charity is Project Linus. Donated blankets are given to children in hospitals, group homes, foster care, etc. I hope these blankets are loved on by five well deserving sweet kiddos!

Come join us for our East Side Stitchers meetup today at the Chagrin Falls Library located at 100 E. Orange Street, lower meeting room 28, from 11:00 - 1:00!

I will be teaching you how to make these adorable crochet Holiday Lights. The pattern works up fast and is a great way to use some of your scrap yarn. Make a garland for your tree, or fireplace mantle, use them for a keychain, hang from your rear view mirror, attach to your backpack, etc...so many uses!

Basic crochet skills needed for this make. Bring yarn of your choice in one color for the cap and another color(s) for the bulb (I would avoid dark colors), a crochet hook appropriate for your yarn, stitch marker and a tapestry needle. I have plenty of polyfill, so feel free to grab from my supply.

Participating in the crochet along is completely optional! Feel free to bring your own project if you prefer!

Hope to see you there!

🌟 Hello, friends! 🌟

As many of you know, I officially retired from professional photography — a chapter I loved, and one I’m deeply grateful for. 📸💛

Now, I’m excited to share that this page will be shifting into something that reflects where my creative heart is today: all things arts and crafts!

You’ll start seeing more of the hobbies that bring me joy, including:
🧶 Crochet
🎨 Oil & watercolor painting
🪡 Sewing
✨ Embroidery
📔 Scrapbooking
📷 And yes, still plenty of personal photography — just for fun this time!

I’d also love to welcome anyone who’s local (or simply interested!) to follow along with The East Side Stitchers, my monthly crochet group. We gather at the Chagrin Falls Library the last Saturday of every month from 11:00-1:00 to craft, chat, and enjoy a cozy sense of community. New friends are always welcome — whether you’re a total beginner or an experienced maker!

Thank you for sticking around as this page begins a new, colorful, handmade chapter. I hope it becomes a warm, inspiring space for everyone who visits. 💗✨

Here’s to creativity, connection, and lots of beautiful projects ahead!
