Visiting the memorial at the Van Wickle Gates was heavy in a way that’s hard to put into words. Standing there, talking with students and members of the Providence community, I felt the weight of the loss and the shock that’s still settling in. It was painful, quiet, and deeply human.
This has been a tragic and heartbreaking moment, but I’ve also been struck by how much care is showing up everywhere. Today, a stranger noticed my Brown hat and stopped just to ask how I was doing. Friends, family, and loved ones have reached out to check in, to listen, and to remind me I’m not alone.
None of this makes the loss easier, but it does matter. It reminds me that even in moments like this, we hold each other up. This community continues to show what it means to be Ever True.
