A few years ago, I spent the day of my own college graduation documenting someone else’s wedding.

I’ve had mixed feelings about that choice ever since.

As a student-athlete, graduation felt like more than just a ceremony. It was proof of the early mornings, long travel to tournaments, practices, classes, exams, tears, and years of hard work paid off. A chance to stand there and say, “I did it.”

At the time, I convinced myself missing the walk wasn’t a huge deal. So much of college had already looked different because of COVID and online classes. But if I’m being honest, there have been moments when I’ve wondered what it would have felt like to cross that stage...

While photographing my cousin’s graduation, I found myself thinking about that again.

And then I remembered something important.

On the day I missed my own graduation, I was documenting one of the most meaningful days in someone else’s life.
That’s what I chose, and that’s what I still choose every time I pick up the Nikon.

There will always be moments in life that we can’t be in two places for. But helping people preserve the moments they’ll never get back has always felt like exactly where I’m supposed to be.

So while a small part of me still wonders what that graduation walk would have felt like, a much bigger part of me is grateful that I get to spend my life documenting milestones like these.

Congratulations Peeps. You did the damn thing. 🎓⛳️🤍

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

But I think certain photographs are less about words, and more about what they make you feel.

The same image can feel nostalgic to one person, healing to another, and completely different to someone else. That’s the beauty of photography — everyone sees a piece of themselves in it.

This right here. It’s a moment that says everything without needing a single word.

The last two weeks have been BUSY in the best kind of way. 🤍

6 newborns, 3 maternity sessions, a Fresh 48, 17 minis, 5 families, three graduations… or something like that - and somehow I still managed to squeeze in a few rounds of golf in between it all. 🤪

Life lately has felt a little crazy, a little nonstop, but also really, really good.

One thing I’m always trying to navigate as a self-employed business owner is balance. Making time for my clients while also making time for myself, my family, and my friends. Some weeks I feel like I have it figured out, and other weeks I’m just along for the ride — but I’m so thankful for all of it.

I truly love what I do. The newborn snuggles every week, the happy kids that walk through my studio doors, the growing families, the milestones, the familiar faces I get to see over and over again… it never gets old.

Some days are long and my calendar feels wild, but getting to capture these seasons of life for so many amazing people makes it all worth it.
