Wowza, well this made my day (week? month? quarter?!)

The Voice Competition receives over 40,000 photo submissions each year, and learning that my first time entering, one of my images earned an honorable mention was a big and also absolutely wonderful surprise.

I haven’t done an intro post in a minute, so here we go! If you’re here, you probably already know that I absolutely live for candid, authentic, storytelling photography of you and your people. It’s my favorite.

I think about time a lot. It’s one of my top two values (the other is adventure), and it’s a big part of why I started this business. You can’t get more time, but you can be deliberate about what you do with it. So the way I see it is, spend the time you have doing more of the things you love and less of the things you don’t.

One of the things I love most is documenting moments for you and your people - so you get to experience them again and again. ❤️

I think of myself as a recovering perfectionist. Perfect is ok, but probably not realistic, and definitely not me. To be honest, I’ve realized I like imperfect better. My mind is a little messy, and I enjoy a touch of frenetic energy in my days - makes things more interesting. This has a lot to do with what I strive to capture in my images of you and your families: genuine connection, lots of heart, a little nostalgia, raw emotion - all adding up to your unique story.

For me, photography is about storytelling. Sometimes I’m documenting your family’s story, other times I’m creating a visual story about an individual or a business. Either way, we are going to have a great time and the story is going to be uniquely yours.

From the location we choose together, to what you decide to wear - each step we will take in planning your session is one I have intentionally designed to create a beautifully authentic and meaningful result.
