Summer wind on San Juan | Emily & Joe hosted their close friends and family off the coast of Seattle at Roche Harbor Resort with a welcome whale watching tour followed by Saturday’s ceremony by the marina. Emily mentioned during the reception how she can’t imagine anyone only having one wedding day - because she was so incredibly grateful she had an entire weekend to celebrate with everyone she loves. It was meaningful in all the right ways.

Full wedding weekends hit different - and Emily and Joe left Roche Harbor with their hearts full and laughs spent.

We had sailboats in the San Juan Island marinas in the morning, and golden light on the Pacific in the evening. This Roche Harbor Resort wedding was one for the books - and if you’ve never stood on the Hotel de Haro lawn at sunset; well now you see why couples travel far and wide to get to this tiny Pacific Northwest island to get married here.

Truthfully, the real magic was the in-between. Joe’s face when Emily walked down the aisle (and when his sweet daughter did a ceremony reading), the girls keeping Em present and relaxed, and the hugs our team witnessed when the ceremony came to a close. All family, all heart, no brakes.

Sundays deserve weddings too, and this one proved it.

Intimate + intention. Those are the two words that come to mind from Amanda and Shane’s church ceremony in Kensington. Their families gather in Shane’s home church where the couple vowed to love one another forever - and then we walked along the hydrangeas. Summer blooms as their love grows; and I can’t wait to see what comes next for these two.

Kate Ann Smithson | Film-Inspired East Coast Weddings absolutely nailed it when she captured us at our favorite places - at Carbonara and at home with our zoo. Zero was just little bean then - and Lupin was beginning to adjust to a bit of a noisier life. I wouldn’t trade our little family for the world 🤍
