One of my favorite parts about photographing proposals isn’t just the “yes.” It’s seeing who gets invited into that forever kind of moment.

The friends hiding nearby trying not to give it away. The immediate screaming once the ring is on.

Everyone crowding around to see it up close like it’s the first diamond they’ve ever seen in their life. It’s chaotic in the best way possible.

Peter and Sydney’s proposal at Bartholdi Fountain felt like spring finally showing up in DC. Soft greens everywhere, the Capitol sitting quietly in the background, and a whole group of people ready to celebrate these two from the second it happened.
There’s something really beautiful about realizing your engagement story doesn’t just become yours that day. It becomes part of your people’s story too.

Sometimes the smallest weddings carry the biggest emotions.

Megumi & Andrew chose to celebrate their wedding day at St. Mary’s Church with an intimate group of loved ones, and honestly, it felt so personal from beginning to end. No distractions, no overwhelming timeline, just two people fully soaking in the start of married life together.

The laughter outside the church, the soft spring light, the quiet little in between moments… it all felt effortless in the best way. A beautiful reminder that your wedding day does not need to be huge to feel unforgettable 🤍

Gabe & Emily’s Proposal @ Smithsonian Zoo 🐘💍

Tucked right in the heart of DC, the Smithsonian National Zoo is such a fun and unexpected proposal spot. Between the hidden paths, greenery, and quiet corners, it somehow feels adventurous and intimate all at once. Emily’s reaction said everything. The happy tears, the disbelief, and immediately showing off that ring to everyone walking by 🥹

Proof that your DC proposal does not have to happen at a monument to feel unforgettable.

Jennifer & Nikhil’s wedding day felt like stepping into a classic romance film tucked inside the heart of Washington DC. The towering architecture of the National Cathedral, the quiet pathways of Bishop’s Garden, the golden evening light wrapping around them so softly it almost didn’t feel real.

Every part of the day carried this calm intimacy to it. Nothing rushed. Nothing overdone. Just two people completely present with each other.

From the cathedral arches to the garden paths, every corner felt cinematic and timeless. The way Nikhil looked at Jennifer all day long. The soft movement of her veil in the wind. The warm glow pouring through the gothic windows. It all felt effortlessly editorial while still holding onto so much emotion.

These are the kinds of weddings I love most. Intentional celebrations where the beauty is not just in the location, but in the feeling of the day itself.
A quiet kind of romance. The kind you never forget. ✨

A little refresh because there are so many new faces here lately and honestly… thank you. Truly. 🖤

I’m Stefan. The person usually behind the camera running around DC with too many lenses in my bag, fixing jackets, hyping couples up, and documenting people exactly as they are.

One thing I’ve learned after photographing so many love stories in Washington DC is that this city is so much more than politics and monuments. Beneath all of that is a city full of people building lives together. Couples from completely different backgrounds somehow finding each other here and making DC a meaningful chapter in their story.

People often see DC as fast paced, but I get to witness the softer side of it every day. Quiet proposal mornings at the Tidal Basin. Engagement sessions that feel like long walks with old friends. Weddings filled with people who traveled across the world just to celebrate love here.

The laughs. The happy tears. The in between moments that feel like home.

So whether you’ve been here for years or just found my work recently, thank you for being here and supporting what I create. It truly means so much.

I can’t wait to keep showing you a whole different side of DC, one love story at a time. ✨

Golden hour at the Tidal Basin just hits different… and Isabel & Thomas made it feel like a scene straight out of a film.

We started along the water with those soft cherry blossom tones in the background, where everything felt light, effortless, and full of movement. Then over to the Jefferson Memorial — clean lines, marble columns, and that iconic DC glow that turns every glance into something timeless.

Between the quiet hand holds, the “look at me like that again” moments, and a little nod to their countries🇺🇸🇧🇷, this session felt personal in all the best ways. Romantic, playful, and just the right amount of editorial.

DC really said… main character energy.

Some proposals feel like a quiet pause in the middle of the city.

Will chose Book Hill Park for Francesca, tucked away in Georgetown where everything feels a little softer, a little slower. Just the two of them, sunlight filtering through the trees, and a moment that didn’t need anything more.

The second he dropped to one knee, everything changed. Francesca’s reaction was instant. Pure surprise, hands to her face, laughter through tears. One of those moments where you can see it all hit at once.

It was simple. It was intentional. And it was completely theirs.

The kind of proposal that reminds you it’s never about how big it is, just how real it feels.

Max & Chase’s cherry blossom proposal at the Tidal Basin felt like stepping into a moment that was already becoming a memory.

The nerves, the anticipation, the way time seemed to slow down right before everything changed… and then the surprise, the laughter, the disbelief, the joy. Every emotion unfolded so naturally, and getting to document it all as it happened was something really special.

These are the kinds of moments I love most, not just because they’re beautiful, but because they’re real. The in between glances, the shaky smiles, the hands covering happy tears, the quiet second where it all sinks in. That’s the magic.

What an incredible honor it was to capture this chapter for Max & Chase under the cherry blossoms in DC. 🌸
