Needed a few days to recover, but what an absolute pleasure spending this Fourth of July on the rooftop of the beautiful Hay Adams Hotel. Man, the The Hay-Adams Hotel set the bar for The Fourth and we were happy to capture it!!! Custom family portraits all day with the monuments as a backdrop, a fabulous dinner at dusk, rooftop champagne/dessert party with live band and unobstructed bird’s eye (not mention air-conditioned) view of the fireworks😀?! IYKYK. Many shouts out to the tireless, professional, hard-working team at the Hay Adams for making it so much fun. Thank you for having us. 🙏🏽

All we can say is “Wow.” 🎉 New York Best-Selling Author Kennedy Ryan () packed the house at the historic Lincoln Theater () to kick off her national tour celebrating her latest release, “Score”. Shout out to all the ladies in green for bringing the love 💚. And shout out to Mahogany Books () for hosting the party like no other and staying on the job creating joyful spaces for writers and readers of color. Always happy to be in the house. Excited to be invited back to photograph (as one guest called it) the “Prom of the Construction Industry” — DC Building Industry Association’s 50th Anniversary Gala at The Anthem on the Waterfront in SW DC. Bringing together Washington’s construction, real estate, government and development communities along with some of the hottest planners in the game () in one of the city’s coolest venues ()…couldn’t go wrong.🔥

Sharing some joy. 💫Took a break last weekend to accompany our talented summer intern (and collective neice) to NYC to see her choir compete in the World Strides Choral Competition. It did our hearts good to see the young people of The Duke Ellington School of the Arts (who practice sooo hard year round) show out and take home FIRST place. The students were professional, exceptionally skilled and left the audience with chill bumps and in tears. DC…we were well represented.👍🏽💪🏽. To the students, teachers, parents, founders, supporters and alumni of Duke Ellington…thank you. 👏🏾. So proud.

That night the legendary Roots crew () teamed up with Music Soulchild () to raise funds for Congressional Black Caucus Foundation () interns at the annual CBCF gala.
