There was something so special about the way their day felt—full of laughter, love, and so much genuine joy. From the girls laughing together while getting ready, to the happy tears and emotional moments surrounded by family and friends, every part of the day felt so beautifully them.

And, of course, Puppy had to be part of it all. 🐾🤍 Seeing Puppy there, right in the middle of such an important day, made it even more special. Because Puppy isn’t just their dog—Puppy is family and a part of their story.

We loved watching Alexis and Robert simply enjoy each other—laughing, playing, and soaking in every moment. Even climbing into w**e barrels for a few fun portraits! 😂🍷

My brother-in-law’s wedding celebration at Mystic Dunes Golf Club in Florida this July was a family affair filled with so much love. ❤️ Family and friends traveled from all over the country to celebrate, making it a weekend full of laughter, happy tears, dancing, and memories we’ll cherish forever.

Hi friends! We thought it was time for a proper introduction.

We’re Ni and Xiao, the faces behind NiandXiaoPhoto.

We photographed our very first wedding in the summer of 2019 and honestly, we can still remember how nerve-racking it felt. We double-checked every piece of gear, worried about every timeline detail, and poured our hearts into documenting our couple’s day. Since then, we’ve had the honor of photographing nearly 60 weddings, and somehow we love this work even more today than we did when we started.

A few things you should know about us:

We’re hopelessly obsessed with golden hour. Give us soft, warm light and a couple in love, and we’re in our happy place.

🏡 OUR HOME
Fredericksburg, Virginia is where we call home. We love its small-town charm, beautiful historic streets, and the fact that we’re perfectly situated between Washington, DC and Richmond—close to so many amazing couples and wedding venues while still enjoying a slower pace of life.

☕ OUTSIDE OF PHOTOGRAPHY
When we’re not photographing weddings, you’ll probably find us exploring local coffee shops, chasing sunrises, admiring saucer magnolias in bloom, or dreaming up our next adventure.

The hardest part about sharing P & G’s wedding? Choosing which photos to post. 🤍

Some weddings are beautiful. Some weddings are joyful. And every once in a while, you get a wedding that feels like a warm hug from beginning to end.

P & G celebrated with an intimate gathering at L’Auberge Provençale, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The forecast called for a hot Virginia summer day, but somehow everything fell perfectly into place.

There was incredible food, endless laughter, heartfelt conversations, and the kind of love that makes everyone in the room feel lucky to witness it.

One of our favorite surprises was seeing one of our past couples there as guests. Moments like that remind us how small and connected the wedding community can be—and how special it is to continue celebrating alongside the couples we’ve had the honor of photographing over the years.

And honestly? This gallery is packed with favorites. The candid laughs, the quiet glances, the happy tears, the way P & G looked at each other all day long—it made narrowing down these images nearly impossible.

After the reception, we slipped away to the State Arboretum of Virginia for a few more portraits. The afternoon light peeked through the summer skies just enough to give us the most beautiful backdrop for those first moments as newlyweds.

One of the most meaningful parts of a Chinese/Vietnamese wedding day is the tea ceremony—a beautiful tradition rooted in love, respect, and family.

Surrounded by parents and loved ones, the couple serves tea as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude for the generations who helped shape their journey. It’s a moment filled with blessings, laughter, happy tears, and the kind of connection that reminds us what weddings are truly about.

It was such an honor to witness P and G’s tea ceremony and document these meaningful moments shared with their families. And can we take a moment to appreciate G’s traditional dress? It was absolutely stunning and added such elegance and cultural significance to an already beautiful celebration.

We love documenting these quiet yet powerful moments—the embraces, the proud smiles, and the stories passed from one generation to the next.

I’m not even sure where to start with this one. 🥹

Last week was full of celebrations as my brother-in-law and his fiancée flew in from Florida for my daughter’s high school graduation. Between family gatherings, happy tears, and all the excitement, we carved out an hour at sunrise for an engagement session at the Jefferson Memorial—and I’m so grateful we did.

Even though it was an overcast morning, the sun peeked through the clouds every now and then, giving us little pockets of beautiful light. Add in the Washington Monument in the background and these two being completely adorable together, and honestly, it couldn’t have been a more perfect DC morning.

They’ll be tying the knot in Florida this July, and after spending this morning with them, I’m even more excited for their next chapter together.
