We also had a pistachio color dress picked out which would have been an EQUALLY AS EPIC color combo! 💚

Everyday life matters.

The routines. The traditions. The inside jokes. The chaos. The same couch you pile onto every night. The way your toddler reaches for you. The sweet snuggles while you read before bed.

It can all feel so mundane when you’re living it.

But this is the stuff your kids will remember. This is where love grows. This is where a childhood is built.

Everyday life isn’t the stuff between the big moments.

Everyday life IS the big stuff.

Forgive me if I’m stating the obvious, but everyday life is REAL. It’s MESSY. It’s glorious ❤️ It’s the bread and butter of this one wild and precious life, to quote Mary Oliver 🥰

So how is this not the number one thing we photograph as family photographers?!!

This family reached out to me when they found out they were moving abroad. They wanted to capture their everyday life together before things radically changed: Feeding the cats, making coffee together, snack time, reading their favorite books, going for family walks, capturing big brother’s special gem collection 💎

I am SO proud of these images because I wholeheartedly believe they capture the essence of everyday life for this family ❤️ and dang it, if I can’t convince more of you to do this!!!! 😉

Pro-tip: take your family photos in the neighborhood where you met and fell in love 🩷

Maybe also, on a whim, take your kids on the metro for the very first time! It’s so fun to document their authentic curiosity, excitement (or disinterest 😅) as they embark on new-to-them adventures 🚇✨

This is such a great example of how mixing a STELLAR shoot plan (meaningful location, outfits, etc.) with spontaneity can create such a fun and unforgettable storytelling experience for your family! 🩷

The very first Motherhood in Full Color session of the day aka the FIRST ONE EVER! This crew set the bar HIGH for the rest of these sessions 😍

I just remember repeating over and over during this session: “omg omg omg omg, our inspo board is coming to life before my eyes!!! You’re making my dreams come true!!” (…a little dramatic, but I really love this job, ok?? 😅)

Mama Meaghan let me style her family from head to toe, showed up ready to just play with her kiddos, zero expectations, and OH MY GOSH, look what we created for her!

They surprised me with the dinosaurs and the bubbles and I literally can’t think of a more perfect addition to these photos 🩷

That one time the MOST AWESOME FAMILY EVER decided to do their photos in an unexpected rain storm!! Followed by silly time at home in their PJ’s, of course!!! 💙❤️

I think we got approximately .001 seconds of little brother’s undivided attention throughout this whole shoot AND WE STILL CAPTURED SO MANY AMAZING MOMENTS!! In fact, the photos we captured are so much more authentic for it 🤩 thanks sweet Harry!
