One of our favorite parts of photographing multicultural weddings is seeing two cultures come together in a way that feels completely their own. D + J blended their Korean and Nigerian backgrounds with a traditional Korean pyebaek ceremony, followed by Nigerian traditions during the reception (more on those soon).

These two knew they were going to spend the rest of their life together since the moment they met, and clearly, they were onto something.

If we had to describe what we want to be known for, it’s probably this. 🤍

Making you feel comfortable enough to actually be yourselves. Knowing when to step in and when to hang back. Creating the photos you knew you wanted, while paying attention to all the things you didn’t even know were happening.

We want you to look incredible, obviously. But we also want you to look through your gallery and see your people, their personalities, the energy in the room, and all the little moments you missed because you were busy getting married.

The pretty AND the real. We’ll always want both.

S + J 🤍 Sophia has been following my work for over a decade, all the way back to the early days of my business when I was photographing a ton of senior sessions at her high school.

I started shooting my junior year of high school, so it’s pretty wild in the best way to now be photographing weddings for some of the same people who followed along or were in front of my camera back then. Getting to grow alongside my clients and photograph entirely new chapters of their lives is one of the coolest parts of having started in high school. Such a full-circle moment 🥹

Sophia & Jon were the epitome of grace all day, and even the rain seemed to notice. It stopped right before pictures were supposed to begin and started again the minute we finished. 🤍

Step one of every wedding weekend: don’t be strangers by the wedding day. 👏🏼

One of the biggest benefits of wedding weekend coverage has nothing to do with having more photos. It’s that by the time the wedding day arrives, we already know your people, and they already know us. The hugs feel more natural. The candids are more genuine. Your family isn’t wondering who the photographers are because we’ve already spent time together.

It’s a small thing that makes a big difference, and one of our favorite parts of documenting an entire wedding weekend.

Wedded on The Wharf 🤍 Our team Angelika Johns Photography Team | DC & NYC Photographers spent the weekend celebrating B + B on the DC waterfront. 

One of our favorite parts of photographing ceremonies is watching everyone’s reactions unfold at the same time. The bride walking down the aisle. The groom trying to hold it together. Parents wiping away tears. Those little moments happening around the main event are often the ones couples treasure most. A beautiful weekend for an even more beautiful couple.
