Our hearts break for our friends over at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service . Praying for a solution for their children's services.

Last night, our hearts were broken.

Around midnight, six youth broke into one of Peoria Friendship House’s vehicles—our primary source of transportation for the children we serve. They dismantled the steering column, leaving the vehicle inoperable.

This isn’t just damage to a vehicle. It directly impacts more than 200 children who rely on us every day. Without this bus, field trips may have to be canceled, and even our ability to pick students up from school for our after-school program is at risk.

As a nonprofit, we already work hard to stretch every dollar to serve our community. Unexpected setbacks like this are incredibly difficult and take resources away from the children who need them most.

If anyone has information about this incident, which occurred around midnight last night, we ask that you please come forward or contact local law enforcement. Even the smallest piece of information could help.

We believe our community cares deeply about its children, and we know there are far more people who want to help than hurt. Thank you for standing with Peoria Friendship House and the families we serve.

I had the joy of spending the morning out at Camp Dallas, Spring Bay IL with Dwayne and Patty Keller Atherton, and let me tell you I am so excited! We shared hugs, some tears, but most importantly visions for serving the youth of Central Illinois. We have some fun plans in the wings. So stay tuned! Now that schools are out for the summer, some kids need extra help and resources. Please help us reach them. Let's network together as professionals. And if you know of an individual between the ages of 11-17 struggling with self-esteem and depression, please refer them to us. For those that have been with us from the beginning, do you notice the change? That's right- we've dropped the age from 13 down to age 11. That's because the feedback we are receiving from other youth workers and mental health professionals is the need surges at age 11. So let's link arms and fight the war for our children's hearts and minds. Let's rally around them and get them the support they need!

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and after years of working with individuals in crisis, I have seen firsthand how deeply young people struggle with low self-worth and how mercilessly many of them are bullied.

Many of these youth feel unseen, misunderstood, and unsure of their value.

Purposed Generation offers something profoundly important. Through photography and storytelling, it not only brings visibility to these struggles, but also speaks truth into them, reminding young people that they matter, that they are intentionally created by God, and that their lives have purpose.

This message is powerful. When young people begin to see themselves as God sees them, with inherent worth and unique design, it can become a turning point in their healing.

I wholeheartedly support and believe in the mission of Purposed Generation and the hope it brings to the next generation.
