I’ve watched Adycin grow up since she was a tiny little peanut and to make this trip a possibility for her would fill my auntie cup up to the brim and then some! I love these girls and their family, more than they even know!

✨What kind of session you’d like it to be- family, portrait, maternity, you and your fur baby, etc. these sessions are open to everyone! Not just families

My favorite thing to do with my family sessions is find a pretty trail and take a walk.

For many reasons but I’ll give you 2 for now…

✨I love walking- it’s where my creativity sparks the most and there’s so many opportunities for different back drops and prompts. Walking also works your left and right brain and who doesn’t love a little mental exercise?? It’s good for you AND me okkk?

✨ If kids are involved, it gives them something to do- find bugs, step in a puddle, picking up sticks, freedom to run around, etc. It gives them the space to be themselves. If I’m meeting you for the first time, I’m a stranger to them with a big camera telling them to smile (scary, lol) so if we gotta throw rocks in the lake for a bit together or have a stick war, I’m doin whatever it takes for natural smiles and joyous fun photos!

The location of your photos is important, but if you trust your photographer, I can promise you- your photos will be magical no matter what 🫶🏼

The minute I received a text from Brody, my photographer senses knew immediately what he was going to ask 🤭💍

Surprise proposals will forever be a favorite of mine- the anticipation, knowing a beautiful ring is in his pocket, knowing how nervous and excited he is, knowing she has absolutely no idea what’s about to happen, the squeals and tears when it does, it’s all so beautiful 🥹

S/O to for being my behind the scenes gal and best assistant for this! 🫶🏼

Annnddd big congratulations to these two love birds! Growing up with Emily and watching this moment unfold was a big full circle moment and I am so happy for her happy 💛

In home family sessions are love letters to my inner child.

There’s glimmers you remember from childhood.
Mine were always going to grandma and grandpas house for the holidays, spending summers with grandma in her garden, playing in the sprinkler on a hot summer day, riding bikes with friends through the neighborhood I grew up in- moments that can only be remembered through photos or our memory.

Capturing these glimmers for you and your family, fills my entire heart with childlike joy.

I am a horrible gift giver.

But what I am really good at is sharing my time and talent with the people that I love.

When I got to Shailey’s house yesterday and asked how she was feeling she said, “I don’t have anything to wear, and I feel unprepared.”
Which I responded with…

”Don’t worry I’ve got some babies’s breath and we’re gonna make magic.”

I love celebrating these seasons of life with my friends and giving them the gift of photos 💛✨

Every year, gathers her girlfriends to go wander on Matanuska Glacier- freezing our butts off, going down ice slides, eating pb&j’s and seeing if our tongues stick to the glacier… it is always an adventure with our girl 🩵❄️👯‍♀️

Labor of Love: A Story about Wood Camp
🪵🏕️🔥🍻✨

Wood Camp happens every fall- we cut wood, move wood, and cut down trees to help Uncle Tony + Aunt Julie get ready for winter, we eat sooo much food all day long, Premium beer only, belly laughs and story time… it’s something I’ve looked forward to every year the last 3 years.

2024 was my favorite wood camp. It was my birthday and we didn’t talk about celebrating or doing anything. I was happy just being with my family. Well, after dinner- they all surprised me and showered me with incredibly thoughtful gifts and a birthday cake (wood camp themed of course), and all I could do was cry. It was like a cloak of love washed over me. Best birthday, best wood camp 🥹

This next year, might look a little different…
The heart of the home and the head chef, my auntie Julie, is battling cancer and is now on hospice. She is comfortable and at home now, but it doesn’t make the ache go away that I won’t get to see her again.

But-
I have these photos. My family has these photos. And I can’t put into words how grateful I am for these photos.
