Let’s talk about church weddings!
To start, this is not an attempt to talk anybody out of getting married in a church. I’ve had the honor of capturing so many beautiful church ceremonies over the years, made extra special when it’s your home-town church.
But they definitely require you to know what to expect so that you aren’t disappointed if a certain photo isn’t possible or things aren’t quite how you would’ve expected…
1. Churches often have strict rules about where photographers can and cannot be/go. I will always try my best to give you a full gallery but some churches don’t allow me to go beyond certain pews or along the sides. This can limit the angles and images I can physically capture (though I’ll always try my best without breaking rules).
2. Some churches are DARK and I have never found one that allows flash. This means your images might not be exactly as light and bright as some of my other work. I will not risk the quality of your images even if it means having things a little darker.
3. The plans can often change. I’ve found that couples will often be told one thing about rules/restrictions and then I’m told something totally different on the actual wedding day. I’ve more than learned to adapt and roll with it but it often happens and might impact something we had previously discussed.
Overall, church weddings are amazing and I love getting to photograph moments so special to my couples…but they do require flexibility from all of us and it’s always good to keep that in mind!

Today starts my maternity leave as we excitedly await the arrival of little Lavallee!!
This doesn’t mean I’m disappearing completely! I still have one wedding I’m finishing editing and will still be checking emails periodically.
What this does mean is that I’m not going to be taking on any sessions during this leave! I will also be taking a bit longer with response times.
I’m so excited to soak in these last weeks as we prepare for our first little one and appreciate everybody’s kind words and understanding!!

I was so sad when I found out I had to miss this wedding but incredibly grateful to Kelly & Jazmyn for capturing all this beauty in my place!! Lauren and Shawn are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and I looked forward to their wedding since the day they booked and especially since their engagement last fall. When I told them I couldn’t be there on the day, they were so incredibly kind and trusted the plan…and I’d say Kelly and Jazmyn crushed it!!!
Here’s to a lifetime of more amazing memories and happiness for Lauren & Shawn!!

Captured the sweetest wedding on Saturday for Lauren and Zachery! Starting with a heartfelt ceremony at their home church and moving to an absolute party at Wood Acres Farm. It was beautiful from start to finish and filled with all the happiest emotions!! Wishing these two the absolute best lives together as they start this new chapter in life!!
