I had a consultation call with a gentleman who was talking about wanting photos with a stylish, classic feel... think black suit, strong expressions, timeless James Dean-style vibes! I was immediately like, heck to the yes! I love that style!

What a lot of people don't know about me is that before photography, I studied fashion. I still love flipping through magazines, studying editorial work, and paying attention to the details that make an image feel powerful. So when someone comes to me with a vision that's creative, cinematic, and a little more fashion-inspired, I'm completely here for it!!!

So when I saw these images from a past session, they immediately made me think of our conversation. They have that classic, editorial feel that I absolutely love creating.

Do you know what vexillology is? Because I didn't know before this senior session. Vexillology is "the scientific and scholarly study of flags," and Eric taught me this at his senior session consultation. We incorporated his love for the study of flags, maps, and art into his session with a half in-studio and a half out the studio senior session. I always find it fun building sets with other peoples items! It's my favorite way of customizing the session!

Today, I printed my July and August calendars to organize all my summer sessions and opening dates. I'm balancing sessions, with summer family fun because we have a lot of adventures planned! I have a few spots still open for July and August for high school seniors, headshots, branding, and other creative sessions! DM if you want more info!

Book the photo session for you, for your creativity, for your self expression. Book the session because you want a full, empowering, confidence boosting,
unique to you kind of experience.

Book the session because years from today you will be able to look at the photos, relive the experience and say, wow, that was me. I remember that day, that time in my life, the people around me.

I found a favorite photo of my grandma over the weekend, and it inspired this post today. Her smile, and laugh in the photo brought back her memory.

I met almost a year ago when she came into my studio for a portrait session. This Friday, she’ll be leading our June gathering, and I couldn’t be more excited.

Kelly is an author, poet, editor, and co-founder of Poets in the Pines. During this interactive workshop, we’ll explore storytelling, journaling, creative writing, and the power of owning our stories. Together, we’ll reconnect with our voices, reflect on our experiences, and discover how our stories can create connection and inspire others.

Because every woman has a story inside her waiting to be shared.

Space buns, roller skates & a whole lot of laughs. This session was life! Heidi & I met through my photography business and quickly become close friends. Through the last year, it has felt more like a sister bond. We support each other through all the waves of life and have created our own special memories with our families. And I’m so grateful. 🥰

Let this message be a reminder to send a gratitude message to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while. Maybe a simple message like, “I was a thinking of you, hope you’re doing awesome” kind of message.

One year ago this month, I took Angela’s first set of branding photos. I’ve watched Angela go from talking about her vision for Whispering Willows to creating it, and surrounding herself with a team of amazing therapists that shares that same passion for helping others.

Angela has created a space where people can feel safe, supported, and not alone. The practice offers EMDR therapy, Brainspotting, ERP for OCD, trama, substance addiction, anxiety and depression.

This week, as she prepares for her Open House, I celebrate Angela bringing hope, healing and connection for many through the practices services.

Congratulations, Angela. I celebrate you for following your dreams and hope many people can join the open house June 13th to meet the team and learn more about your practice.
