It's National Pumpkin Day... what a gourd-eous day! Farmer Hickory grows the tastiest pumpkins in all of Dark Oak Forest. They are rumored to be so sweet no sugar needs to be added when turning them into pies. Other farmers have tried growing better pumpkins, but Farmer Hickory squashes all competitors!

Walking through Slumber Hollow can be scary, especially with rumors of the Headless Horseman flying around like witches on broomsticks. Legend has it this soldier lost his head in battle to a great warrior squirrel. He now gallops lonely pathways in search of a new head. Don't let it be yours!

On a stormy night where the sky danced with streaks of blinding white bolts, the mad scientist harnessed this power to energize his experiment. Play Ball!
An extra post tonight in honor of the World Series. If you watch my "Behind the Scenes Videos", you will see I am often wearing a Milwaukee Brewers hat/shirt. The Brew Crew have been my favorite team since I picked them in third grade while collecting baseball cards. I simply chose them because of name association - they had the same name as our pastor who I also liked. So now they are playing in the Fall Classic - and have never won it all. They are sending phenom Jacob Misiorowski to the mound. This hurler has thrown more 100+ mph pitches than anyone else this year. He is electric! It should be a fantastic series (and I am fortunate to have a ticket for game 4 - should I take an acorn character with me?). Let's Go Brewers!

Today I am working on another request from a customer - a wheelchair. I tried this many years ago but the results were too bulky. After years of practice and learning how to use different materials, I am finally happy with the results of this wheelchair. Can’t wait to photograph it… I just need to think of how to set up a scene using it.

Camping during Oaktober is not a wise choice, especially if you choose a spot near Crystal Lake. It may sound like a peaceful and serene location, but you may be awakened by a knife wielding nut who just wants to cause destruction and mayhem. And no... he is not the goalie for the Oakville Ice Monsters, despite how he dresses.

Artist's Note: This is another commissioned piece I did several years ago for a customer whose husband is a huge Friday the 13th fan. It's Oaktober in Dark Oak Forest, a month full of mischief and mayhem, and the witches are warming up their broomsticks. Keep an eye on the skies and you may see Hazel Brewstorm zipping past the full moon on her turbo charged Haymaker 3000. Unlike most dark-cloaked enchantresses, Hazel does not cast spells of doom and gloom. She won't threaten to turn you into a toad. Her goal is to sprinkle joy and whimsy from the skies. When she spies children from up high she showers them with candy. "Extra licorice for that little ghost, and lots of chocolate for that Pirate Squirrel," she cackles as sweets sprinkle down on giggling children.
