Happy Sunday!

I wanted to take a minute to personally acknowledge something because I know there are clients who are eagerly waiting for their galleries, and I never want anyone to feel like I’ve forgotten about them. 💗

I see your messages, I know you’re excited, and I completely understand wanting to see your photos. Please know that behind the scenes, I am working incredibly hard every single day to keep everything moving.

Right now I am photographing sessions almost daily while continuing to accommodate new bookings, and when I’m not behind my camera, I’m behind my computer editing. Wedding galleries, newborns, maternity, families, children, couples — the list goes on. Weddings especially involve hundreds and hundreds of images that are individually gone through and edited with care.

And outside of Passion Photography, I’m also a mom of two. I have a home to keep up with, my children and their needs, church obligations, appointments, everyday life… and somewhere in between all of that, I’m trying my absolute best to give every client the experience and finished gallery they deserve.

One thing that has always been important to me is keeping professional photography affordable. I offer specials and discounted sessions frequently because I genuinely want families to be able to have beautiful photographs without photography becoming something they simply can’t afford. Even when you book one of my discounted specials, I do not want the VALUE of your session to feel discounted. I’m still putting the same care into your photos, and I’m still known for delivering generous galleries with MANY images for you to keep. 📸

That does sometimes mean there is a wait — but I truly believe what you receive is worth that wait.

I will always welcome a kind message asking about the status of a gallery. I understand the excitement! But I also want to gently say that rude, demanding, or disrespectful communication is not something I am comfortable accepting. I would never speak disrespectfully to a client, and I ask for that same kindness and respect in return. There is a real person on the other side of this business who is working extremely hard to make everyone happy.

I’m one person. One photographer. One editor. One mom. And lately I have been stretching myself in every direction possible because I hate saying no and genuinely want to fit everyone in.

So if you are currently waiting for your photos, THANK YOU. Thank you for your patience, for trusting me with your memories, for booking with me again and again, for recommending me, and for supporting my little business.

Your gallery has not been forgotten.

I’ve seen a lot of conversation among photographers and parents recently regarding AI, children’s images, and a recent court ruling involving AI-generated material. As a photographer who works with so many wonderful families and children, I wanted to take a moment to address it.

First and foremost, the safety, privacy, and comfort of the children and families I photograph will always matter to me.

I’ve seen several posts suggesting that the recent ruling essentially makes it legal for someone to take photographs of real children online and use AI to create inappropriate images. After looking further into the actual ruling, that is not an accurate description of what the court decided. The case involved completely AI-generated imagery that did not depict an actual child, and the ruling was specifically about private possession under existing First Amendment precedent. It did not create a blanket right to manipulate photographs of real children.

That being said, I completely understand why the capabilities of today’s AI have made parents and photographers more cautious. Technology is changing quickly, and I believe those concerns deserve to be taken seriously rather than dismissed.

After giving this a lot of thought, I am not making a blanket decision to stop sharing children’s photography on my business page.

Photography is about documenting real people, real families, and real moments. Children’s and family photography is also a large part of my work, and sharing my portfolio allows future clients to see the quality, style, and experience they can expect when choosing me as their photographer.

I will continue to be thoughtful and professional about what I share. I will only post appropriate images that I feel are suitable for a public business portfolio, and most importantly, I respect every parent’s right to decide what they are comfortable with.

If you do not want your child’s images shared on my business page, please tell me. There will never be hard feelings, and your decision will always be respected. ❤️

At the same time, I don’t believe families who are comfortable having their beautiful portraits shared should feel frightened or ashamed for making that choice either.

There are risks anytime we share our lives online, and AI has certainly introduced new concerns that all of us should be aware of. My approach will be to stay informed, use good judgment, respect my clients’ wishes, and continue adapting as technology and the law evolve.
