Three of my kids have graduated now. Three. I still catch myself doing the math like it can't be right.
My parents used to tell me "it goes so fast" and I'd smile and nod because that's what you say to people who say things like that. I didn't actually get it. I was too deep in the sleepless nights and carpool lines and packing lunches to think about an end date.
Then somehow you're standing at graduation number three, and it hits you different every single time. Not less. Different.
I think that's part of why I love this job so much... I get a front row seat to other families' versions of this. Watching someone else's kid run through a field like this one, hair flying, laughing at nothing... it gets me every time now. Because I know exactly what's coming for that mama behind the camera in her own life, even if she doesn't fully feel it yet.
So here's me, three graduations in, finally understanding what my parents meant all along. It goes so fast. Hug your babies today and don'ttake a single second for granted. 💙
