I had the joy of photographing Vera at the Bluegrass Classic Dog Show Cluster a few weeks ago, and what struck me immediately was the amazing connection she shared with her dog, Voodoo! I have no doubt that comes across in their portraits together!

Vera's support and enthusiasm for not just this project, but Junior Showmanship really cemented my drive to make this project great. I truly believe junior handling is in a great place, and the future of Dog Showing is bright!

✨ JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP | A Portrait Project ✨
Featuring: Zayla Zaner & her Pomeranian, Gracie 🐾
During the Bluegrass Classic Dog Show Cluster I was lucky enough to create portraits with a select few Juniors.

Zayla impressed me before I could even say hello! She walked up to my traveling dog studio, got my attention, and blurted out "Can you tell me about the pictures with me and my dog?" All I could do was smile and hand her an invitation to be featured!

At 11 years old the confidence and courage she showed made the best first impression, and I know she will be off to great things in Junior Showmanship & much more! ✨

Pixel found my studio at the WKC Summer Splash in Waukesha, WI and I think she earned her spot on the family wall! (Let’s be honest, I’m quite sure she’s earned that spot 1000 times over!)

✨ Exciting times over here! I’m sending in my contracts for the Kentuckiana Cluster of Dog Shows and also the AKC Championship in Orlando!

I think I could have thrown an entire steak 🥩 and Kira the Basset Hound would have been all over it! 😅😋

She took her portrait session very seriously, showing me all her best sides, skills, and even showed off what it looks like when she shakes her entire body!

A bts look at what goes into our Junior Showmanship Portrait Project ✨

I feel fortunate to have had Brianna, Easton, Katryna & Dani as my first junior handlers to participate in this new project. They were so much fun to create with! 📸

Junior Handling is very important to the future of dog show conformation. The future is bright, and my goal is to shine a light on this arena at every show I attend. Thank you to the Waukesha Kennel Club and the Great Lakes Junior Showmanship Event for being open to this little idea of mine!

My next stop is the Bluegrass Classic Dog Show Cluster in Lexington, KY. Stay tuned for available times during the show for these portraits!

Please help me send all the loving thoughts that you can to our friends at the Humane Society of Marathon County ❤🐈 They just said goodbye to their friend and beloved Butterscotch.

On a personal note, over many years Butterscotch would walk over to make sure I was giving all the animals at the Humane Society who needed new portraits my absolute best. That, or he was biding his time until he could pop in the studio and show everyone how it's done ✨ Probably both ❤

Butterscotch was loved by so many, and he will be greatly missed 🌈

Featuring: Dani Zoeller & her Dachshund, Teddy Swims 🐾
Dani earned fourth prize during the inaugural Great Lakes Regional Junior Showmanship Event held at the Waukesha Kennel Club Summer Splash Dog Show! The bond she shares with her Dachshund, Teddy, was immediately seen during our portrait time, and obviously that paid off in the show ring!
