I see you! I do love photographing wildlife in the wild. At the same time there is something to be said about sheer beauty of animals doesn't matter where they show up. Its been ages I went to the zoo. Captured this shot a while ago at Franklin Park Zoo, Boston, Massachusetts. But surely even in the zoo there are many animals, birds you can capture. If you love photographing nature and animals don't let yourself be limited to capturing only in the wild. Zoo is a perfect place to visit and enjoy the animals. You could focus on details as they are much closer.

Bad hair day :) :) :)

Belted Kingfisher with a bad hair day! Observing birds in their environment is always fun. Sometimes you see comedy and sometimes honeslty you do see somse tragedy too. When birds play in water and then show up on a perch often their feathers are in an interesting state to say the least. Then they continue preening till they are satisfied. Hopefully this Kingfisher had similar issue with its feathers and nothing serious that he needs to worry about to go see a doctor :)

Juvenile Glossy Ibis! A medium-sized wading bird with compact body, long neck, long legs, and long, curved bill. The plumage appears dark, almost blackish, at a distance or in poor light. At close range, much of the body is maroon, with the wing coverts showing metallic green, bronze, and violet tones. Glossy Ibises occur in flocks, both at nesting colonies and when foraging. They typically feed by lowering the bill into water, mud, or soil, to feel for prey, and they often feed among many other species of wading birds. They frequent almost any wetland environment with shallow water or exposed mud and also readily feeds in farm fields or open areas where soils are moist. I captured this photo in my last visit to India at Keoladeo National Park aka Bharatpur Sanctuary. If you ever visit this sanctuary, plan your trips at dawn and dusk. If you are a serious birder, photographer, then also plan to spend at least 2-3 days here. Best time to visit is in winter from December to February.

Gaillardia Grandiflora, Blanket Flower. Gaillardia will bloom all summer until frost even without deadheading. 'Goblin' is an old time favorite with red and yellow bicolor flowers surrounding a reddish-brown button like center.

Bluebird looking back! The bluebirds are a group of medium-sized, mostly insectivorous or omnivorous bird in the order of Passerines in the genus Sialia of the thrush family (Turdidae). Bluebirds are one of the few thrush genera in the Americas. They have blue, or blue and rose beige, plumage. Female birds are less brightly colored than males, although color patterns are similar and there is no noticeable difference in size between the two sexes.

Gateway to the world of colors!

This beautiful bridge seemed like opening up the gateway to the world of colors you see out in the distance with beautiful mountains and splendid views of the cloudy sky. As we are well into the Spring, and as I visit some places seeing the lush green landscapes, it remindes me of the fall seeing the same landscapes full of color. Awaiting again many months to the fall this year again 😄

Soaring high!

I captured this shot of a Juvenile Bald Eagle soaring up high in the sky at Conowingo Dam, Maryland. Conowingo Dam is a fantastic location to visit especially duiring migration season in April or in November. People from all over the country come visit this place to photograph Bald Eagles and many other birds. What makes this location ideal is for number of Bald Eagles you shall see here. They are everywhere - just like in Alaska. At the time I visited there were 350 Bald Eagles per the official count. They are all near the dam, in a way, far away but depending on how they hung they could bring action close to you. You could get to see Bald Eagles fighting mid air for the fish. They could be chasing Osprey for the fish. Then of course they could be photographed grabbing the fish from water. I like this photo especially for the morning light through bird's feathers. I also think that Juvenile eagles have unique character due to their feathers being full of patterns unlike Adult eagles for whom you know and expect the typical pattern you see.

Colorful Broccoli Florets :)

Don't they look like one? This shot I captured a while ago in Vermont in Autumn, totally reminds me of broccoli florets, that too colrful. Fall is the season I adore the most. Each year I look forward to it. The crisp, cold air, leaves falling, leaves turning colors - everything in fall gives me energy, vibes. Vibes to get out and photograph more.
