Yesterday, I looked over at my husband while we were driving and asked him,
"Do you ever look at us and think, 'We really get to spend the rest of our lives together,' and get so excited about it?"

He responded, "All the time. Every time I look at you."

And I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Life moves so quickly. We're usually talking about schedules, kids, work, groceries, and all the things that keep a family running.

But for a moment, kids in the back seat and headed home from running errands, life slowed down a bit. I got to see us not for all that we do, but for what we are.
Two people who somehow found each other in this big world and get to keep choosing each other over and over again.

I think it can become easy to spend so much time looking ahead that we forget to be amazed by what's already here.

So here's your Sunday pause:
What in your life have you stopped being in awe of simply because it's become familiar? Maybe today is a good day to notice it again.

Deanna & Austin, veteran AT hikers and kindred spirits, you all made this session one to remember for sure.

I'm always awestruck by our neighboring Blue Ridge Mountain views. We live in such a beautiful place!

I loved this engagement session so much. ✨

When asked if I’d be interested in a Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden engagement session, I couldn’t say “yes” fast enough. 🌸

The entire property is filled with hidden paths, pockets of gardens, and every plant/shrub/flower you could think of (and plenty you didn’t even know existed). The monumental greenhouse… oh. my. gosh. Spectacular.

And then of course, I meet these two… Amber & David 🥹

If you want to know the main reason I love photographing people, it’s this. I love people. I love connecting and getting to know personalities, the little likes & dislikes. I love hearing couples talk about each other as I discover the “why” behind their relationship.

Life is so beautiful as it is, but humans really do make it that much more meaningful.

Sitting here looking at my calendar and getting so excited to join another momma in her home for another birth-day come July ✨

It reminded me of a Sunday morning I got the call and slipped out of church early to meet a close friend and her family for the homebirth of their sweet baby.

I love birth. The beauty of it. The miracle. Gosh, it’s amazing. Feeling blessed to join with, and have these opportunities with other mom’s in our area again soon. There are simply no words to describe how these moments change our hearts and vision for life… forever.
