What Most Couples Regret About Their Wedding Photos

Most couples don’t realize this until it’s too late…
Your wedding day goes by fast.
And what you’re left with are the photographs.

After photographing over 300 weddings, I’ve seen a pattern in what couples regret when it comes to their photos:
* Not prioritizing photography in the budget
* Choosing based on price instead of connection and trust
* Not building enough time into the day for real moments to unfold
* Over-structuring the timeline so everything feels rushed
* Hiring someone whose work didn’t actually reflect how the day felt

But, your photos are not just documentation. They are how you remember the feeling of the day.
The quiet moments. The in-between.
The way someone looked at you when you weren’t paying attention.
That can’t be recreated later.

My approach has always been simple:
Be present and capture what’s real… beautifully.

If you’re planning a wedding, give yourself the space to choose a photographer whose work makes you feel something.

Because that feeling is what you’ll come back to… for the rest of your life.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of photographing some of the most beautiful, meaningful days of people's lives. Hundreds of weddings and so many couples who trusted me with something irreplaceable.

I am relaunching my wedding photography business and rebuilding my online presence. If I had the honor of photographing your wedding, I would be so grateful if you'd take a few minutes to leave me a review on Google.

You don't need to write an essay. Even a few sentences about your experience means the world and helps other couples find me when they're searching for someone to trust with their day.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has been one of the greatest privileges of my work to be welcomed into so many love stories.

It is inevitable that when you get married you are happy but you remember those who could not be there to share in your joyful occasion. One way to include them would be to wear something that belonged to them. You could blend the old with the new. When Lindsy and Mark got married in Manyunk near Ph

How to Prepare for Your Engagement Session.

Your engagement session is one of my favorite parts of working together. It's just the two of you, and it gives us a chance to get comfortable with each other before the wedding day. Here's how to make the most of it.

On color

Solid colors almost always photograph better than patterns. Blue, green, and red are universally flattering. Browns and warm autumnal tones are beautiful on medium to deep complexions. Soft purples and pinks tend to work well on most women. Pastels can be lovely on deeper skin tones but have a tendency to wash out lighter complexions, so if you love a pastel, make sure it has some richness to it.

If you want to wear a pattern, keep it subtle and check that it doesn't clash with what your partner is wearing. And avoid wearing the exact same color in the exact same way. Two people in identical red sweaters reads more like a holiday card than a fine art portrait. Shades of the same color, however, work beautifully together.

On style

You have two great options and both photograph wonderfully. Go fully casual, jeans, something you'd wear on a relaxed weekend, and the images will feel natural and warm. Or dress up completely, as if you're heading out for a special dinner, and the images will feel cinematic and elegant. Either works. What doesn't work is mismatched energy, so if one of you is in jeans and a t-shirt and the other is in a cocktail dress, the images will feel a little off.

If you're going the dressed-up route, a word on shoes: most sessions involve some walking, so make sure your heels are ones you can actually move in.

A few practical notes

Keep your makeup and hair close to how you normally look. The goal is to look like the best version of yourself, not a styled version of someone else. Your wedding images will be something you look at for decades, and you want to recognize yourself in them.

Bring a small bag if you need one. I'll be holding it between shots, and a large bag gets heavy quickly alongside camera equipment.

Lip balm for both of you is worth tucking in. Dry lips are one of those small things that show up more than you'd expect in close-up images.

Don't be afraid to suggest a location that means something to you. I love shooting somewhere with a story behind it, and some of my most interesting sessions have come from a couple saying "there's this place we always go." Bring the idea and we'll figure it out together.

Finally, your complimentary engagement session is included with your collection and I'll reach out to schedule it after booking. Sessions are one hour and I'll have your images edited well before you need them for any prints or guest books you may be ordering.

Most importantly, come ready to have fun. It's an hour, it's just the two of you, and it goes faster than you think.
