Such a sad day. Dolly Parton was so much more than a singer and entertainer—she was the heart of East Tennessee.

I spent every summer in the Sevierville and Pigeon Forge area, long before it became the popular destination it is today. Over the years, I watched it grow into a place visited by families from all over the country, and so much of that growth came from Dolly’s love for her hometown.

She used her success to create jobs, bring tourism to the region, support local families, and give children around the world the gift of books through her Imagination Library. She never forgot where she came from. She gave back to the people and mountains that shaped her while sharing her music, humor, kindness, and unmistakable spirit with the world.

What a remarkable life and legacy. East Tennessee and the world will not be the same without her. Rest in peace, Dolly. 🤍

Waynesboro and the surrounding area is genuinely one of the most beautiful places to photograph. 🌄

The trails, the architecture, the open fields — I've been shooting here for years and still find new spots. Local sessions have a home feel that's hard to replicate anywhere else.

✨ The moments you remember most are rarely the ones you planned. ✨

The perfectly posed portraits are beautiful, but it’s the laughter that sneaks out during the cake cutting, the quiet glance during a dance, and the genuine smiles shared between two people that tell the real story.

Those unscripted moments are where the magic lives.

As a photographer, I’m always watching for the in-between moments—the ones that happen naturally, without direction or posing. Because years from now, those authentic memories are often the ones that mean the most.

Myth: You need perfect lighting for great photos.

Reality: Overcast days are one of the best natural softboxes nature offers. No harsh shadows. Even, flattering light across the whole face. ☁️

Some of my favorite sessions have been on "bad weather" days. Embrace it.
