Mother's Day is coming up and it always reminds me of the little blue birds I took pictures of taking care of their little ones.
Being a mother myself I understand it's important to take the pictures and to be present in those photos. We fuss and groan that we aren't "photogenic" something that will "ruin" the photo of the perfect moment. In our chaos we are perfect.
You can have the photos and videos treasured of your life but when you are always behind the camera it can look like you are an observer in your own life. Be present. In your life and in the photos.
Thankfully I've been blessed over the years to take maternity and Mommy and Me photo shoots. Those are some of my most cherished photo capturing the beauty of the divine female in its most beautiful form of manifestation.
Remember to take the photos of Mom. Capture the memory in its entirety. Your mom isn't just the observer in life. She's the creator of it. ~ AJ

Deep in the heart of the rhododendron bush this cluster was quite striking as the rays of the sun broke through the darkness illuminating them sporadically.
Just like in life sometimes the prettiest blooms can be covered up by the noise of life. They bloom just the same waiting for someone to notice them but being wholly themselves.
Flowers don't have the idea of what they should or shouldn't be or change what they are based on their audience. ~ AJ

A quick trip into the mountains on Saturday to chase waterfalls and streams.
Hold my hand as we traipse across the boulders below. Feel the cool air being pushed around with force from the water dancing on the rocks. The air thick with the smell of earth, moss, and mist. ~ AJ

My favorite shot of the day came when this jumping spider decided to make an appearance.
I was never a fan of spiders until we started living in an RV and they would hitch a ride with us. Soon you could tell they had their own personalities and hunting styles which was entertaining to watch. It was kinda like have a "pet" you didn't have to take care of for a moment in time. ~ AJ
