𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒚: 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 🏞🐴📸
If I had to choose one word to describe the July/August ride at 4J Big Piney Horse Camp, it would be 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Over the years, Jimmy and I made it a priority to make sure our boys spent at least one full week at camp every summer. More often than not, that week happened to be this ride.
And that's what makes this particular ride so special to me.
Many of the families who come today have been coming since the very beginning — more than 50 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬, 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬, 𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬. Children grew up here, carried on the traditions of those who came before them, and brought their own children back.
Today, some families span 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 at the Piney.
We grew up together. We watched each other's families grow. We celebrated, laughed, rode, played in the river and made memories together. That, to me, is the true meaning of family.
We may not be related by blood, but somehow, something in our blood keeps bringing us back to the Piney. ❤️
It was truly an honor to spend this ride behind the camera, capturing the people and moments that make this place so special. I hope you enjoy looking through these photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them.

I'm already counting down the days until I see you all again on the Piney.
Until then, I'll be holding onto these memories — one photograph at a time.
