Hello everyone! I’m going into my second year teaching at Mt. Blue High School. I want to try and get as many classroom supplies as possible without having to purchase ANYTHING, and you may be able to help! I have listed below items that are needed for my classes and are often found in excess or tucked away as forgotten storage in people’s homes.
Many teachers around this time post their Amazon Wishlist. Amazon makes it extremely convient to order a vareity of affordable items all in one go, shipped directly to the recipient of your choice. Unfortunately, like most things in life, with convenience comes a trade off. We already have so much clutter in our lives. Every day, products are being produced at a faster rate than the human population (with access to such stores and goods) can consume them. We have gotten used to items in our home being easily replaceable. Many of us buy products and then fail to use them to their full capacity, because there’s always more available in abundance.
We are only just beginning to see the consequences that the rapid escalation of overconsumption of products (due to the increased availability of e-commerce sites such as Amazon, Shein, Temu, etc) has on human health and the environment. A good overview of this issue can be found here: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2021/may/30/should-we-all-stop-shopping-how-to-end-overconsumption
So, in place of sending you all off to slow down the World Wide Web while ordering during Prime Day, I’m going to try something new. I have listed below items that are needed for my classes and are often found in excess or tucked away as forgotten storage in people’s homes.
PLEASE LIKE & SHARE THIS, the more people see this, the more likely I am to get everything on my list!
