Choosing your wedding photographer is about so much more than loving their photos. You’re trusting someone to capture moments you’ll never get to recreate, so asking the right questions matters!

Here are 5 questions I think every couple should ask before booking their wedding photographer:

- What is your turnaround time?
Know when you can expect sneak peeks and your full gallery.

- Can I see a full wedding gallery?
Instagram shows the highlights. A full gallery gives you a better idea of how your photographer captures the entire day: from getting ready to the dance floor.

- Does your camera have dual SD cards?
Your photos are irreplaceable. Having your images recorded to two cards at once adds an extra layer of protection throughout your wedding day.

- How do you approach a wedding day? More candid or more posed?
Make sure their approach matches how you want your day to feel and how you want your memories captured.

- How do you handle stressful or fast-paced situations?
Wedding days can come with timeline changes, weather surprises, and unexpected moments. You want someone who can stay calm, adapt, and keep things moving without adding to the stress.

At the end of the day, you’re not just hiring someone who can take beautiful photos. You’re choosing someone who will be beside you through some of the biggest moments of your day.

Ask the questions. Look at the full galleries. Find someone whose work you love and who you trust to take care of you.

If you were my best friend planning your wedding, here's exactly what I'd tell you:

• Hire vendors you genuinely trust, not just the cheapest option. The right team will make your day smoother, less stressful, and so much more enjoyable.
• Choose people who bring you peace. Surround yourself with vendors and loved ones who make you feel calm, supported, and excited, not overwhelmed.
• Never underestimate the power of communication. Ask questions, be honest about your vision and expectations, and work with vendors who communicate just as well as you do.
• Build a timeline that gives you room to breathe. Leave space to soak in the moments instead of rushing from one thing to the next.
• Stay present and stay together. Some of my favorite photos happen in the quiet, in-between moments. Don't spend your entire day separated from each other.
• Remember what you're really celebrating. Your wedding isn't about creating the perfect Pinterest board, it's about beginning your marriage surrounded by the people you love.
• Keep your people close. Fill your day with those who care about you, celebrate you, and want the very best for your marriage.

Your wedding day is one of the most meaningful days of your life, and I don't take the responsibility of documenting it lightly.

My job goes far beyond taking beautiful photos. I'm there to help keep your day organized, make family portraits feel effortless, keep your timeline moving, and capture all of the moments you might miss while you're living them.

The joyful tears before you walk down the aisle. The quiet glance between you and your spouse. The hugs, laughter, and little details you've carefully curated.

1. Inquiry – You reach out and tell us all about your wedding day.
2. Consultation Call – We get to know each other, chat about your vision, and answer all your questions.
3. Booking Process – Once you're ready, we'll send over your proposal and contract to officially reserve your date.
4. Engagement Session – Photography clients get a fun, relaxed session before the big day.
5. Planning Stages – We'll meet 1–2 times to build your timeline and make sure every detail is covered.
6. Final Check-In – About one week before your wedding, we'll go over all the final details.
7. Wedding Day!! – You get to soak it all in while we capture every unforgettable moment.

Here are 3 mistakes couples make when booking a wedding photographer:

1. Couples try to remove crucial parts of the wedding collection, like the engagement session that could impact the opportunity to build the relationship between the photographer and the clients.
2. They try to go with less hours to save money. This may make your photo gallery feel incomplete such as getting ready shots, end of the night dancing shots, etc.
3. People want to price shop instead of finding a photographer that they truly have a connection with. You will be with the photographer all day so you want to have a strong relationship with them.

This is why consultation calls are so important! We want our couples to have the best day and having plenty of time together to build a relationship with us. We will be your biggest supporters and ensure your day goes smoothly. 🙌🏼
