3 years of photography🥹📸🎂

3 years of capturing some of the most meaningful moments for the sweetest people. 3 years of learning, growing, creating, and experiencing so. much. joy.

it still amazes me that picking up a camera could lead me here. this little business has taken me places i never imagined, connected me with people i may have never met otherwise, and given me the opportunity to preserve moments that mean everything to the people in front of my camera. what a gift that is🤍

to every single person who has trusted me to capture a piece of their life, shared my work, recommended my name, encouraged me, or simply cheered me on along the way, thank you. i hope you know how sincerely grateful i am. HLP would not be what it is today without you.

and if i’m being completely transparent, year three challenged me in ways i didn’t expect. i let doubt get a little too loud sometimes. i questioned myself, compared myself, and held back from sharing work i was genuinely proud of because i convinced myself it wasn’t good enough.

so heading into year FOUR (!!), i’m leaving a little more of that doubt behind. i want to create more, share more, take more chances, and keep building this little dream God has given me.🥹

these two LOVE the iowa state fair. so much so that they take the whole week off every year just to enjoy it together🥰

it was so much fun getting to meet them, wander around the fair together, & capture a little piece of a tradition that means so much to them. so thankful they trusted me to document it all. 🫶🏼

blessing your feed with sweet baby smiles today 🫶🏼

this little family will always have such a special place in my heart.🤍

for those of you who don’t know, Chloe & Zach were some of the very first people who believed in me as a photographer. before HLP was even a business, they were encouraging me to take the leap and go for it.

and now, almost THREE years later, I’ve had the absolute gift of capturing their proposal, wedding, baby announcements, maternity photos, and now family photos with the sweetest little Noah.🥹

with HLP turning 3 next week, I can’t help but look at these photos and get a little emotional thinking about how much life has happened since those early days. their family has grown, this little business of mine has grown, and somehow I’ve gotten to document so much of it along the way.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully explain how much it means when someone trusts me to keep showing up for their biggest moments. these aren’t just photos to me. they’re pieces of a story I’ve been lucky enough to watch unfold.

forever grateful for friendships like these, the people who believed in me before I fully believed in myself, and three whole years of getting to preserve the good old days. 🫶🏼

For one day only on Sunday, August 16, I’ll be offering a limited number of Iowa State Fair Story Sessions.

Whether it’s your family’s annual tradition, a summer date night, celebrating your senior year, or simply spending time together, I’d love to help you preserve your favorite fair memories.

these two are getting MARRIED on saturday, & i couldn’t be happier for them. 🫶🏼

sometimes i have to pause and remind myself that this is my job.

getting to preserve chapters like this, especially for people i love, is something i’ll never stop being grateful for. i’ve had the joy of photographing these two for over three years now, and watching their story unfold has been such a gift.

alyssa, you’re one of my very best friends, and getting to witness this next chapter of your life means more than you’ll ever know.

this weekend, i get to put my camera down and simply celebrate you. 🤍

There’s no sweeter love than puppy love🫶🏼🐶

Tommy & Mollie welcomed Mabel into their little family, and getting to capture this season for them was the absolute sweetest. Although it was the WINDIEST day, Mabel was such a trooper, and she officially earned the title of being the goodest girl!🏆
