While walking along a path in Cedarburg on a rainy day, I noticed a radiant flower hidden in the brush. With my Leica Q3 on hand, I decided to capture the scene.
Given the low light conditions, I set the exposure to 1/30th of a second, opened the aperture to f/2.8 to create a shallow depth of field, and used a low ISO of 50 to maintain image quality. Steadying myself, and with the amazing stabilization of the Leica,I managed to get the shot handheld.
The resulting image transformed the ordinary, dreary scene into something captivating. Carrying a camera serves as a constant reminder to observe and appreciate the unexpected moments of beauty that surround us, even on gloomy days. For me, photography has a way of altering my perception and finding the extraordinary in the everyday.
