Often I get lucky with looking up and seeing the big dipper lining treetops almost exactly ...this has happened several times over the years. Saturday night (9/1/24) I saw the dipper, yet again, set up for me, so I snapped some shots. On top of being lucky with my scooper being a trooper, I noticed in the shot, straggler meteors and if you look on the right edge of the photo you can see a tinge of red from that nights aurora ...it was barely visible at the house, and only visible by camera. Good deal! :)
