I have always strived to see them as individuals, to capture their unique expressions, mannerisms, and spirit. When I hang their portraits in our home, it makes them feel important and celebrated. My goal as a photographer is to capture your children this way too - to create simple portraits that celebrate who they are. The thing I like most about working with kids is that they are always themselv
es, unapologetically. Because of their innocence, they don't have the same inhibitions or self awareness that most of us adults have. That makes it so fun for me to get down on their level and make the connection I need to create their portraits. I have found that if I speak to kids with respect and show genuine interest in the things that they share, I can easily bring out their personalities. I promise to pay close attention to the little things that make your child unique, and to document them in a way that is honest, respectful, and unforced. In the end I hope these portraits are hung on your walls, make your child feel special and valued, and are enjoyed for many years to come.
