I was driving from Deer Isle to Southern Maine when Coastal Route 1 crossed over the Orland River. At first, I spotted a slight reflection of a Church in the water. The image of the church that I created in my head did not shape up to be anything in reality. To my surprise, across the river, I saw a perfect reflection of this cute riverside home in the calm river. The moral of this story…don’t be afraid to make spontaneous stops along the roads you travel on, you never know what photographs you might make! :)

Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness is one of the most spectacular, untouched landscapes in the Northeast. Borestone Mountain towers over 3 spring-fed alpine ponds in an untouched, old growth forest of spruce-fir and northern hardwood! The forests seen here have been untouched for over a century! Only nature could create a moment…a place, so pristine and perfect!

If you’re wondering where you can see gorgeous fall foliage in Acadia National Park, look no farther than Sieur de Monts, the first major stop on the famous Park Loop Road! Towering Birch and Hemlock trees act as homes for many bird species (you may even see an owl!) as well as rich wetland habitats! The boardwalk on the Jesup Path is stunning during the fall, but absolutely worth the visit any time of the year!

A lone lobster boat bobs gently in the calm, cold waters of this perfect little cove near Deer Isle, Maine! I’ve seen this adorable little gem of a scene in every season, but Autumn takes the cake! I simply adore autumn in Maine! Where are your favorite places in Maine to visit in Autumn?

Last summer sunlight on the Portland Head Light. Captured on the last day of summer, it is always bitter sweet to see the days get shorter and nights get longer. No matter the season or length of the day, nothing can quite top a beautiful sunset over Maine’s iconic coastline!

: West Quoddy Head Light is the only “candy stripe” lighthouse in the United States of America? Originally ordered to be built by President Thomas Jefferson in 1808 and rebuilt to its current state in 1858, this lighthouse has withstood storms for over 159 years!
