NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center issued an alert stating the Northern Lights might be visible in lower latitudes tonight and tomorrow. Fingers crossed that the clouds will clear in time. Best chances for viewing will be after moonset just after midnight tonight.

An initial CME tracking model released by NASA indicates the halo CME observed on Saturday is fully Earth directed with an impact possible by late September 1st or early September 2nd (UTC). The event is currently being modeled by NOAA/SWPC and a further update will be provided whenever that is available.

I was going over some of my older photos that I never got around to and found this gem. I pulled in my driveway after driving from Cape Cod after photographing the Oct. 10 aurora storm and the sky lit up red. I decided to go back out and took this near my house. The forecast is showing some higher chances for aurora sighting over the next few days, so keep an eye out!

Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS over Beavertail Light

When the comet made its closest pass to earth, I went out to bunch of my favorite spots and documented its journey across the southern part of the sky. I’ve had this one sitting in the drafts for a while but I think it’s starting to grow on me. The light pollution from Narragansett made this a difficult image to capture but I like the way it came out ✌️
