Some photographs are about the energy of a performance.

Others are about the moments hidden within it.

Exhale features Dave Grohl during ’ set at festival in Florence, Italy, in 2018. Tens of thousands of people were in the crowd, the music was loud, the energy was electric and yet, in the middle of all that chaos, there was this quiet moment.

A single breath.

A brief pause.

An exhale.

What I love about this image is the contrast. It wasn’t taken before or after the show, it was captured right in the middle of it. A reminder that even during the most intense moments, there can be space to let go, reset, and simply be.

Those are often the moments I find myself drawn to as a photographer. Not just the spectacle, but the humanity that exists within it.

Exhale is available as a limited-edition fine art print.

When I first picked up a camera, I thought photography was about creating beautiful images.
What nobody told me was that being a photographer also means being an archivist, a storyteller, a business owner, a negotiator, and sometimes even your own advocate.

After 16 years behind the lens, photographing everyone from unknown musicians playing dive bars to some of the biggest artists in the world, there are a few things I wish someone had told me sooner.
Not because I would have done anything differently, but because understanding the value of your work is just as important as creating it.

Your vision is your greatest asset.
Your archive is worth more than you think.
Read your contracts.
Ask questions.
Learn the business side of creativity.
And remember that your photographs are more than memories, they are pieces of your life, your perspective, and your intellectual property.
This isn’t about being protective.
It’s about being empowered.

I created this carousel for the next generation of photographers and creatives who are building something meaningful. I hope it helps you navigate the parts of this industry that nobody talks about.

What is something you wish someone had told you when you started?

There is a kind of power that doesn’t need to be loud.

A power rooted in softness, intuition, resilience, and the courage to remain fully yourself in a world that constantly asks women to be something else.

I’ve always been inspired by women who embody both strength and grace. Who lead with their hearts, stand firmly in their truth, and uplift those around them.

These images of my beautiful friend and super talented artist remind me that true feminine power isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. It’s about owning your story, honoring your journey, and allowing yourself to be seen exactly as you are.

May we continue to support, celebrate, and empower one another. There is nothing more powerful than women rising together.

✨ To the women who create, nurture, heal, lead, dream, and inspire—this is for you.
