While I don't have a direct familial connection to this battle (or the one that preceded it nearby at the Lexington Green), my 5th great-grandfather (through my father's maternal line), Luther Barney (born: Norwich, CT, 1757), answered the "Lexington Alarm" immediately thereafter and became a Minute Man 🇺🇸 in the Connecticut Militia. He served in various battles (apparently seeing George Washington "daily") and also did a later stint in the Navy ⚓️ during the War. In this final endeavor, he was captured but survived. (His brother was also captured... though less fortunate... as he died of small pox while in captivity.)
