The beginning divisions of eventing:

Each level could be divided by Junior and Senior, if entries warrant, and there could be more than one section of each level depending on the number of entries in each level. GRASSHOPPER DIVISION.. This is for those riders who don't feel ready to go cross county yet, with only two phases, dressage (walk-trot) and stadium jumping at a maximum of 2'0" cross rails. Perfect for the younger rider who wants to go with her/his older friends, or anyone just starting out or with a brand new/young horse. MODIFIED DIVISIONS

Modified Beginner Novice:
The Modified Beginner Novice division is a bridge from the Walk-Trot level to the Beginner Novice level. It offers a walk-trot-canter dressage test at the Beginner Novice level, while the fence height remains at 2¹0". The stadium jumping course is also a bit more challenging than the Elementary division, while maintaining the jump height at 2'0" maximum. Modified Novice:
The Modified Novice division is a bridge from Beginner Novice to the Novice level. It offers a Novice level dressage test while the fence height for cross country remains at 2'7". The stadium jumping height is at the Novice level of 2'11" maximum.

In 1886, a woman named Ann Lindo read Black Beauty, looked at the cab horses of London, and started the world's first equine charity. 🐴

She called it the Home of Rest for Horses. The first resident was a London cab horse, worn out on the streets. And Lindo understood immediately the thing that most well-meaning schemes miss: if you simply take a poor man's horse away, you have taken his living, and he will never bring you the next one.

So she lent him a replacement. The cab horse came in to rest and recover; a sound horse went out in its place so the driver could keep earning. The owner had every reason to co-operate instead of hiding the problem.

That is a piece of welfare design so good it is still being reinvented today, in donkey programmes and working-animal charities all over the world.

The charity is still going. It became The Horse Trust in 2006 and has been based at Speen in Buckinghamshire since 1971, caring for retired police horses, military horses and working animals. Sefton, the Household Cavalry horse who survived the 1982 Hyde Park bombing, spent his retirement there.

The defending champions rose to the occasion in a Grand Prix Special full of twists in Aachen, earning an 82.295%—including an extraordinary 9.9 for Glamourdale's extended canter and transition back to collected canter. 🥇🇬🇧

Christian Simonson, the only U.S. rider to advance to the Special, also took center stage aboard Fleau de Baian during his World Championship debut, where an unusual mistake provided both a learning experience.
