Remembering is a such a gift 🤍

I have a maternity session coming up and I always love looking back on older photos for inspiration and just to get (even more) excited ☺️

I realized I never shared these photos from over two years ago. At the time, I was heavily pregnant myself as our babies (now toddlers) are 5 days apart! So fun to look back at these now knowing the precious boy living inside her womb. Soon, we’ll take updated family photos and it will be even more fun to look back on these again 🥹

One of the greatest honors of my life is helping families save memories, especially of their little ones. Even more so now with a little one of my own, I know the value of “holding on” to the moments that seem to be flying by.

I’ve photographed this beautiful family even before they became a family and I can’t help but think of their kids looking back at these photos when they’re older. I think about Ana hugging Noah when he’s taller than her. Or Jelani walking Zara down the aisle. Of course we don’t know what the future brings, but I do imagine these moments.

We cannot see tomorrow. But thank God for the gift of the present, of today. Where we can dream big but love bigger because we know that nothing is promised and all we have is right now.

Thirty years of marriage. That's something to celebrate🎉

I was at a wedding as a guest last week and got to participate in the wedding years slow dance. You know the one I'm talking about right?

It's when the DJ calls out a certain number of years and if you've been married for that long or less you step off the dance floor. The couple that has been married the longest is the last one on the dance floor.

You hear all the years go by, the decades of life together and it really is a moment of reflection.

We got off the dance floor when he said 10 years or less ( we celebrated seven years of marriage this past September!), but the last couple on the floor had been married for 39 years!

Ana and Junior are celebrating 30 years of marriage today. Every time I photograph them, I get to see how they interact with each other and it's so very special. It's like a young love but with grit. Does that make sense?

They've obviously been together a long time. Chased dreams, raised kids, etc. But their love is still so young. They look at each other as if there's no one else there.

An inspiration to us all 🤍

Happy Anniversary, Ana & Junior! Cheers to 30 more!
