Another shot from 2024...

I have always liked lighthouses which seemed strange being in a landlocked state. Turns out, there is one not too far away at Lake Panorama. This wasn't the shot I had in mind and delayed in posting (again) since I have been fussing over the details and/or mistakes.

Taking photos of the Aurora Borealis has been a bit of bucket list thing for me but I have not yet traveled to places where it is common. In 2024, we were fortunate enough to have multiple opportunities to see it here in central Iowa. The first of these was in the spring and we went to find someplace dark and away from the city when we somehow stumbled upon a field with an old building and a cool leaning silo. In the second photo I did a bit of straightening of the silo but you can still tell the lean is there.

This year has been a pretty busy one so far and I haven’t done a good job keeping things up to date here. Watch for more posts to show what I have been working on.

I have driven by this abandoned house for years and always wanted to stop and take photos but things never managed to line up. Finally, the opportunity was there and it did not disappoint.
