CHARLIE is my other neighborhood buddy. Like his brother Xavier, he's a real slugger. Tonight he literally pounded the ball every time he came to bat. Very fun to watch and capture for posterity. These photos make me smile.

I HAD A BLAST tonight at XBK LIVE when my son Brian Schwager made some wild and crazy music with a group of his friends. The band is called TONK! THEY SHOULD BOTTLE THIS STUFF...because I was high for 2 hours after the show. What a great time! (Plus...I finally got to see what a Schwager looks like with great hair...even if it did come from Amazon!)

Brian Schwager played tonight at XBK LIVE with a fabulous band called Tonk. It was the first time ever that a Schwager has performed live with great hair! (I guess I need to try Amazon for some new hair!) This action-packed show with 80's styly music made you want to smile and dance all night long. Here's a brief sample!

Sometimes when I’m out photographing nature, I’ll just sit quietly in my miniature camp chair and wait for something unexpected to happen. More often than not…nothing happens. 😄
But recently, while watching an Owl, I suddenly witnessed a Blue Jay launch an attack on it.(First image) A few minutes later, I focused on another Owl…and this time a Crow came flying in and literally slammed into it mid-perch.
The Owl absorbed the blow, then immediately took off in hot pursuit of the Crow. From what I’ve learned about Owls over the years…they are not birds I’d want to mess with

If you’re looking for an easy opportunity to observe a family of Osprey up close, check out the Osprey nest at the West Des Moines Wells Fargo Campus! Located in a parking lot on the south side of the complex, this nest offers excellent views and easy access to a beautiful mating pair currently guarding their eggs.
