“Just Being Here” is now available through the link in my bio.
Walter lives alone on a wooded property and hasn’t ventured more than a half-mile from his house, but his life is far from ordinary.
This story is delicate and asks for stillness to teach us about vulnerability, compassion, and sense of place. It touches upon difficult subjects (depression, anxiety and su***de) but ones that I hope we can all talk about more to break down the stigmas of mental health. Little did I know how much I’d change as a filmmaker and a person when I arrived at Walter’s property in October of 2020.
I’m happy this is finally out in the world, I’ll let Walter’s story speak for itself.
Thank you to my family and every friend, teacher, mentor and person who received a “can you please give me your feedback :)” email from me. I’m grateful for all the wonderful festivals that shared Walter’s story.
