My Kona Girl Photography

My Kona Girl Photography I am an award-winning Iowa native based in Aurora, Colorado, who has always had a love for the outdoors.

My work has been published in National Geographic Online, Ducks Unlimited, and Gun Dog Magazine, and has been judged as among the top 250 highly commended images in the Audubon Society of Greater Denver’s Share the View International Photo Contest. I purchased my first digital camera when my Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Kona Girl, went blind from diabetes. From that moment, I realized the world around is full of amazing sights and sounds. Through photography, I am fortunate to be able to capture and share a small piece of the natural beauty that surrounds all of us…no matter where we are!!! Coming back from my walk this morning, I noticed the light beginning to hit my planters and very calm breeze conditions... I set up, just in case... then the morning light hit and no breeze... YES!!! This is probably one of my top 5 favorite Cosmos images 🤙🤙🤙
