It's so sad to see another wildfire warning, this time near the stunning Zion National Park. It's hard to believe we were there just one month ago. Keeping everyone impacted by these fires—and the brave firefighters battling them—in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe. 🙏❤️

As a photographer, Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah was a dream. The colors, textures, and endless maze of hoodoos made it one of the most stunning places we visited. Seeing Thor’s Hammer for the first time was at the top of my list, and it did not disappoint! Easily our most impressive stop.

Zion National Park in Utah was gorgeous! We were lucky enough to find parking at 8:00 am inside the East Entrance and do a morning hike to the Canyon Overlook. We even saw a group of longhorn sheep hanging out on the rocks near the trailhead. What we didn't anticipate was the severe heat, with temps hitting 101 degrees as we were attempting a hike to Scout's Landing. Deb and I both suffered heat exhaustion and failed to make the full climb, but my view just short of Walter's Wiggles was still spectacular. While we heeded the warning to drink and carry plenty of water, the heat and elevation got the best of us. The drive though the park was amazingly beautiful!

Location: Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park

How do you photograph a desert? It’s challenging, but having great stone monuments, cool trees, bushes, and cactus are a welcome environment. The park was beautiful, skies were clear, and the scenic drive was extremely rough, but made for plenty of places to pull off and take it in. If there is a next time, I’ll pay for the jeep tour and get out from behind the wheel!
