The foliage here in CT provide such a warm and inviting setting for family photos, wouldn’t you agree? There is just something about capturing simple family moments set in the familiar colors of autumn that makes me so excited to seem my clients this time of year.

What is your favorite season for family photos? Do you prefer the breathtaking colors of the fall, the blooming beauty of the spring… or maybe a crisp white snow setting for your family photos? Personally, I have always loved the low light of late day summer session. Who doesn’t love to partake in a big family hug in front of a glowing sunset?! "Wedding Photography, An obsession"

There is a perception out there that weddings are full of mayhem and chaos and drama and stress , and they often are, but that is part of the excitement and challenge and part of the reason why I love it! The other part of weddings is joy, excitement, happiness and pure love and emotion. Its all about freezing Moments in Time. Being chosen as your wedding photographer means being the one to capture your special day and tell the story of those once in a life time moments that are otherwise gone forever. It is is a huge responsibility, but also, is the reason I take the job of wedding photographer so seriously. Someday, the couple will use these pictures to relive their big day and find themselves amazed at the mini candid moments that are captured that they had no idea was even being photographed.
Such an important day requires a photographer that can make you comfortable in front of the camera, as well as take charge and direct stressful and busy situations. Many of my clients have told me they found their portraits effortless and were shocked at what a variety of photos we took in a defined amount of time. I had one bridesmaid say I served as a “hype man” as well as a photographer, which I have to believe was because I’m always yelling out when someone is looking their best while I’m taking photos. It was a compliment to my process for sure, and now I laugh thinking of this comment every time I am “hyping” my brides up from behind the camera.
Building Relationships with my clients is key to my work. From the time we first meet with the couple, through all of the communication and meetings to design your photography goals, the phone calls and correspondences to detail every aspect the days schedule, up through the engagement session and beyond. By the time the wedding day comes we certainly feel we not just another "vendor”, but most like a friend whom is part of your story.
Wedding photography can not be just a job to those who take it on, it must be a passion, if not an obsession. For me wedding photography is one of the most rewarding and beautiful aspects of my life. I strive to make the wedding photography I offer to my clients, a rewarding a beautiful part of beginning theirs, together.

OH MY HEART! “Im not crying YOU’RE CRYING”

Capturing the moment when you first see each other, your “first look”, is essential for your photo album. It’s the one you will be staring at for the rest of your life, saying, “Wow, that is TRULY love.” Isn’t that what you had in mind when you decided to hire a photographer?
The photos below are heart stammering examples of why I LOVE first look photos at any wedding. I cried when taking these photos, I cried when uploading these photos, I cried when editing these photos. My husband came over and said…”OH Lee…are you crying right now…?” Then he looked at the photos instantly understood why. There are endless reasons and a lot to gain when deciding to participate in a first look. It’s the one time the bride and groom will really get to be alone in a moment like this at their wedding. The entire ceremony and reception will be crowded with people with all eyes on bride and groom. The moment is serene, blissful, filled with love, and the two of you can relish in that moment together before the ceremony if you choose to do a 
“first look”.
The authenticity of this most genuine moment of your wedding will absolutely result in timeless emotion filled photos. This truly uncensored moment of seeing each other for the first time is one not to pass up. Some may want to keep with the tradition of seeing the bride for the first time as she comes down the isle, and that is dependent on the individual of course. In my humble opinion, traditions all have to start somewhere and I think this candid moment between bride and groom is one that will end up becoming more and more common over the years, so why not participate in this new tradition, one based out of love and appreciation!
