Reason #123048205 why I let kids lead the session....

Aside from the obvious (we’re not going against the grain with toddlers we’re trying to get to smile, okay?!), photos like this are why. The second photo was a goofy pose he wanted to do and the first one ended up being one of my favorites of him 💛

During a session you’ll hear me giving kids lots of choices that might seem small...“do you want to stand, or do you want dad to hold you?” Those little moments of control go a long way. Oh, and fruit snacks. Always fruit snacks. (One at a time, rewarded after the smile of course 😆)

Sometimes the best photos happen when you let them call the shots!

We watched the forecast all day long before these minis, and my scheduled families decided to go for it. The rain held off, the air was cool, and that overcast light was perfect. 💛

I love having my families back year after year and getting to see how their little ones have grown since the last time I saw them!

Every session has its surprises , but this one started with a quick run-in with park police getting heckling us for bringing sweet Tippi along 🤣🐶 Definitely a first for me as a photographer, but we rolled with it and made it work!

I love family sessions like this where I get to capture a mix of grandparents, siblings, and kids that make each one so special. 💛
