A snow day has always seemed almost indescribable to me. It offers me the permission and relief of extra time, the chance to pause and wonder at the beauty of the natural world without needing to do anything about it. ❄️

Lately, the weight of the world, the weight of my health, and the weight of parenting have felt increasingly heavy and at times unbearable. Days like today are much needed- a chance to just stop and take that extra deep breath.

Plus- nobody lives for a snow day like this kid loves a snow day.

Ahhh! This was certainly one for the books. Story time- last Valentines Day Jadom asked me if Mr. McDonald was ever going ask to marry him. I simply shrugged and he then told me ”he better hurry up or I'm going to ask her.” Well- he was beat to it.

left no stone unturned with his proposal. These days, a true surprise proposal can be so hard to pull off and man did he kill the game.

This couldn't have happened to a better couple. I am truly honored to have had a part in this day and this moment. ❤️

This little Fourth of July firecracker is somehow 1 and I can’t believe it- I feel like it was just yesterday that .m.dixon was watching my little guy at 1! Side note- if your idea of a cake smash is a low key cupcake in the middle of a field and letting your kid just get after it- give me a shout 🙃

One day of the year is hardly enough to thank you for giving me two of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received- this spitfire, exuberant, amazing little man whom neither of us could of ever truly prepared ourselves for- the gift of showing me that you will always be there for him with unwavering love. When I found out I was pregnant this was the one thing I truly longed for and it wasn’t something I understood. You’ve been by his side since the start and I know you’ll be by it till the end. For all these in between days- keep the caffeine flowing and a cold one in the fridge because we both know this guy never lets us take a break. Happy Fathers Day ✌🏻🙏🏻

Jadon- “Mom can we get a cookie cake for Mother’s Day?”

Me- “Jadon- I hate cookie cakes and it’s Mother’s Day”

Jadon- “Right but I came out of your stomach and I made you a Mom so really I should pick the cake because if it weren’t for me you wouldn’t be a Mom”
