We cancelled our backpacking trip related to weather, but ended it the same way after all. Incredible meals & a spa day before headed home. Turns out the reward doesn’t REQUIRE suffering through weather after all.

If a plan is going to fall apart, Island Lake Lodge is where I’d like to end up.

Behind the scenes of the most difficult and most rewarding day spent out west in the mountains.

Taylor is behind a lot of my photos lately: helping me swap lenses in the field, carrying my heavy equipment (disguised as training for an upcoming ultra), & quite literally dragging me off an actual glacier after I fell later this evening.

Forever grateful for the moments shared like this where we are miles from any sign of humans and probably the most incredible views our lives to date. There weren’t many photos captured this trip because of pure safety concerns, but I think that’s by universal design. We were left with only the best.
