Eight Boilermakers in the books. 🏃‍♀️

This one felt different. I had my camera with me along the course, because you really can’t take the photojournalist out of this runner, but what made today special wasn’t just the miles. It was how many familiar faces were out there cheering. I stopped more than once to snap photos with people I know, because that’s what this race is really about for me: the community, the connection, the people showing up for each other.

And of course, thank you to my parents for always being at the finish line, no matter how hot it gets. Eight years running and you two have never missed it.

The Boilermaker 15K is one of the largest and most competitive road races in the world, and running it through the streets of Utica surrounded by people I love never gets old.

Eight down. See you next year for the 50th Boilermaker run. 🧡
