An old man telling stories…

On a very cold, sunny morning, I used 4x5 sheet film to make this detail of Dark Hollow Falls in Shenandoah National Park. The round-trip hike on an icy trail was about 1 and 1/2 miles. I dressed for the conditions, used cleats on my boots, and stayed safe and comfortable. And that made it possible to fully focus on photography.
