Back in the Antelope canyons...
some places are so incredible that once just isn't enough. Even though I've photographed these canyons before, no two visits are the same. The light moves differently, shadows reveal new shapes and familiar walls suddenly take on an entirely different character. It's one of those places where you can return again and again and still find something new to photograph.

Church of San Giovanni in Ranui...
Standing here, it's easy to understand why Val de Funes is considered one of the most beautiful valleys in the Alps. A place where architecture, meadows, mountains and light come together in one unforgettable landscape. The tiny 18th century church, with its distinctive onion shaped steeple, almost perfectly placed in the middle of a lush alpine meadow and the dramatic Odle mountain range rising sharply into the sky, create a scene that feels almost unreal.

Tragedy at Bull Valley Gorge...
a tragic 1954 Bull Valley Gorge accident occurred on October 14, 1954, claiming the lives of three men. Their pickup truck stalled on a narrow wooden road bridge along the Skutumpah Road near Escalante, Utah, rolled backward, and plummeted into the slot canyon. The pickup plunged roughly 60 to 80 feet before becoming wedged in the narrowing, V-shaped walls of the slot canyon. The impact claimed the lives of all three passengers. While the bodies of the men were recovered, the vehicle could not be safely extracted and was left in the gorge. We hiked down into this beautiful slot canyon to photograph it and upon reaching the wreckage, it felt quite eerie to stand below the wedged pick up truck.

Moqui Caves...
the sandstone walls of the Moqui Caves near Kanab, Utah tell a story written by nature over thousands of years. Sadly, some visitors have chosen to leave their own marks behind, carving names, symbols and graffiti into these fragile formations. What took centuries to create can be damaged in seconds. The scars left on these beautiful sandstone walls are a reminder of why "The Leave No Trace" ethic matters so much when explorinf our public lands. The caves remain an incredible place to visit, but it's disheartening to see natural beauty permanently altered by careless acts of vadalism.
