My name is Brittany, but most call me Bria. My love for photography began when my daughter was born. After struggling with dyslexia most of my life, I learned that the most natural way for me to tell a story was through a lens, no words necessary.

That passion eventually led me into photographing weddings and, shortly after, birth. And birth… That’s where my heart truly lives. There’s no place I feel more at home than in a birthing room, supporting women, offering a steady, grounding presence, and documenting their strength during one of the most powerful moments of their lives.

A few fun facts about me;

β€’I’m a huge creative at heart; photography, videography, painting are just a few spaces I enjoy getting creative. Life is one big canvas!

β€’I’m deeply interested in functional and herbal medicine and love researching the human body and the way it ebbs and flows.

β€’Staying active is important to me; working out, dancing, yoga and being outdoors is how I stay grounded.

β€’My favorite role of all is cheering my three kids on from the sidelines, wherever their hearts are led.

β€’I believe laughter really is the best medicine. Connection matters deeply to me and humor is often how I connect.

One of the best things I decided to do was to step into the sacred space of birth. To stand beside women in their most vulnerable moments and stand as a witness to one of life's most transformative experiences, lending quiet strength and empowerment.

I had one major goal in mind when stepping into this space: To give birthing mamas a safe person. To allow them to feel heard, valued and understood. That they wouldn't feel alone in my presence during a time where being seen and validated is one of the most necessary and valuable gifts you can give.

As this year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on one of my favorite moments: when time stood still for just a moment, and this beautiful baby girl made her grand entrance with the quietest little roar.

One of my favorite parts of spending time with families during a session isn’t just getting to know them but feeling like I’m part of their family, even if it’s for the small amount of time I spend with them. But what’s more, is in every session, I gain or learn something profound that I take with me through my own life experiences.

Sometimes its a gentleness, a calm word or a touch mom brings to calm her children’s nervous system during a more lively session by the water. Or sometimes it’s a joke that flows and brings a deep belly laugh between dad and son, one I can share with my own kids.

There is this unfiltered stillness and happiness of just being in the moment with these families, moments that deserve to be preserved and remembered;
just as they are, just as they were.

And while each photo may not always show exactly how I felt or saw them in that moment, behind each frame, is a deep and profound happiness, a feeling of gratitude for these moments.
